Celebrations

So as most of you know, Ezekiel turned three over Halloween weekend! I am so sorry that it has taken me this long to update you all about it! However, know that I am excited to share the special day with you! We were privileged to spend the weekend at my parents house in Wenatchee. Ezekiel was so excited to have his birthday there! The weekend worked out wonderfully, because we were able to stay for Halloween and go trick-or-treating in my parents neighborhood too! But more on that later. First, Z's birthday. I had so much fun planning and thinking about how to make Ezekiel's day memorable for him. When I was growing up, my mom always made birthdays so special. I really want to give Zeke lots of wonderful birthday memories like I have. One of the great things my mom always did, is hang streamers from our door so we would see them the morning of our birthday. It is very special for me to carry on this tradition in my own family, and I had a blast doing it! Ryan and I decided to add some balloons to the surprise as well. So when he woke up, he saw balloons all over the floor and streamers on his door! He was so excited! It was a great way to kick off the morning! Later that day, we headed off for Wenatchee where we had his birthday party with my parents. Right when we got there, my mom had everything looking great, and the festivities began!

These are the balloons that we had put in Zeke's room that morning in Bellingham. He really wanted to bring them to Papa and La La's for the weekend, so we packed them up too! :)
Another thing Zeke was very particular about, was that he wanted party hats at his party. I think they were a hit! :)

We immediately called the Kills in NY on Skype so they could join in the fun! My sweet sister was keeping all her kids up late (NY is three hours ahead) so that they could talk with Ezekiel. It was really special to share that day with them! I absolutely love Skype! :) Thanks again Kristi and Josh! I had been asking Zeke what kind of cake he wanted at his party, cupcakes, big cake, chocolate, vanilla, etc. He very consistently wanted vanilla cupcakes (I thought it was so cute how decided he was on something like that! :) ) so, that's what he got!

I was kinda nervous at the idea of him not having a bigger cake though, thinking he might really want it when the time came....and I was SO pleasantly surprised when my mom showed me this....
Pretty sure Z got into the cake a bit early.... :)

(Z got his face a little too close to the flames...so I ended up helping him blow his candles out!)

It was perfect! He was thrilled! And honestly, would have probably eaten the whole thing if I hadn't stopped him!
I was so surprised by how much he was eating!!
Haha it was precious!

After we had pizza and cake, we opened presents.

We were really blessed with great gifts!

Ezekiel loved everything!

Thanks so much again everyone! It was a great time! I loved seeing my son so happy and really engaged in everything this year on his birthday!

Like I said earlier, we got to spend Halloween in Wenatchee too. It was great! Ezekiel dressed up like a firefighter and the Wilsons hit the street! (In my parents neighborhood :) )
Ezekiel started out the night with this little Starbucks bag my mom lent us. Later on, an incredibly sweet neighbor gave Zeke an adorable pumpkin bag to use. You can see it in some of the pictures below. :) He loved it! :)

Isn't he the cutest fire fighter you've ever seen!! :)

Zeke was thrilled to go up to every door and ring the doorbell and say, "Trick or Treat".

I could see him gaining more and more confidence with every door. It was so fun to watch! He got really excited when we found ourselves at the doorstep of a real fire fighters home. Unfortunately, no one was home. Regardless, I think this picture of Zeke and his Dada, ringing the doorbell at this particular house, is definitely cute and worth sharing.

He only got scared one time by a howling ghost decoration. :) We had to accompany him to the door while he was trying to be brave. He then informed the next house that he didn't like all the scary stuff, to which a lady sweetly told him she would have to take it down then. :) I thought that was cute. After Zeke raked in the candy, we went back to my parents house, ate delicious chili and spent time together. It was wonderful. Ezekiel was really excited to answer the door for the other trick or treaters and give them all candy. He did a really good job too!

So that's it in a nut shell! Our celebratory weekend. It was full of fun, wonderment, and great times together, making memories that will last a lifetime!
